‘About the Salesman’ unspools in Iran

Documentary on Iran Oscar winning ‘The Salesman’ has premiered in Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The doc titled ‘About the Salesman’ with a focus on Asghar Farhadi unspooled Friday in a Tehran cinema.

Co-directed by Vahid Sedaqat and Tahmineh  Monzavi, the documentary will also be screened at other select movie theaters in the country.

‘About the Salesman’ features behind-the-scenes of Farhadi’s film as well as what the auteur and the well-known Iranian and international critics say of the Oscar grabber.

'The Salesman' tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

Being Iran’s submission to the 89th Academy Awards in the best foreign language film category, the film won double awards for best screenplay and best actor at the Cannes Film Festival.

Farhdi's most famous movie, ‘A Separation’, grabbed global recognition as the first Iranian movie to win an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
